Selous Game Reserve is Africa's largest game reserve, covering over 54,000 square kilometers of untouched wilderness in southern Tanzania. Named after explorer Frederick Selous, it offers a unique safari experience with its vast miombo woodlands and the Rufiji River.
The reserve is home to diverse wildlife including elephants, lions, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, and over 350 bird species. It's renowned for boat safaris on the Rufiji River and guided walking safaris, providing an intimate connection with nature.
As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Selous preserves one of the largest remaining wilderness areas in Africa. Visitors can enjoy remote camping experiences and explore ancient baobab trees and seasonal wetlands.
